EAZYBANK ONLINE Terms and Conditions



This Agreement between you and NBS Bank Limited (also referred to as NBS Bank herein) governs the use of our Online Banking service. This service permits NBS Bank customers (consumers, sole proprietors, and other business customers) to perform a number of banking functions on accounts linked to the service through the use of a personal computer or a mobile device. “You” and “your” refer to the NBS Bank customer that has enrolled in Online Banking. “We,” “us” and “our” refer to NBS Bank.

The purpose of this Agreement is to inform you of your rights as well as the features, functionality, and appropriate uses of Online Banking.


When you use Online Banking, you agree to the terms and conditions of this Agreement.


Your use of Online Banking may also be affected by the other agreements between you and us for your deposit or other linked accounts. When you use Online Banking, you are governed by this Agreement as well as the agreements that you already have with us for any account linked to Online Banking. You should review those agreements for any applicable fees, availability of deposits, limitations on the number of transactions that you can make, and other restrictions that may impact your use of Online Banking. This Agreement will control if there is a conflict.


We have the right to revoke or refuse access to, or terminate Online Banking at any time, without cause or notice. If we do, you understand that any scheduled transactions if any, will not be made. You will be denied the use of Online Banking if you do not enter the correct logon information. There is a limit on the number of failed logon attempts and your access to Online Banking will be suspended if you exceed these limits.

We do not charge a fee per transaction made through Online Banking at this time. However, you are encouraged to check the banks tariffs schedule for monthly service fees. Your Password acts as your signature as the owner and sole user of the User ID for your personal Online Banking service. Your Password is an identification code that is personal and confidential. The use of the Password with the service is a security method by which we are helping you to maintain the security of your account(s). Therefore, YOU AGREE THAT YOU WILL NOT DISCLOSE YOUR PASSWORD TO ANYONE AND THAT YOU WILL TAKE ALL REASONABLE PRECAUTIONS TO ENSURE THAT NO ONE ELSE LEARNS YOUR PASSWORD. YOU AGREE THAT IF YOU GIVE YOUR PASSWORD TO SOMEONE ELSE TO USE OR ALLOW THEM TO ACCESS THE SERVICE, YOU ARE AUTHORIZING THEM TO ACT ON YOUR BEHALF AND YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY USE OF THE SERVICE BY THEM UNTIL YOU TELL US THAT YOU HAVE REVOKED THIS AUTHORIZATION.

You agree to: 1) keep your User ID and Password secure and strictly confidential; 2) immediately notify us of any change in status, or authority, of any authorized signer on record with the bank; and 3) immediately notify us and select a new User ID or Password if you believe your User ID or Password may have become known to or used by an unauthorized person. The bank will have no liability to you for any unauthorized payment or transfer made using your User ID or Password that occurs before you have notified us of possible unauthorized use and we have had a reasonable opportunity to act on that notice. We may suspend or cancel your use of Online Banking without notice from you if we suspect your User ID or Password is being used in an unauthorized or fraudulent manner.

Our ability to deliver your payment in a timely manner is dependent upon specific Biller requirements and accounts receivable processing times. We recommend that you schedule bill payments at least four (4) business days prior to your Due Date.


OUR GUARANTEE: When you use Online Banking with NBS Bank, your money is protected against any online fraud or losses and we guarantee your bills are paid on time.

100% Online Protection. You are protected against unauthorized online transactions as long as you check your statement and notify us of any unauthorized activity promptly.

NBS Bank also guarantees that your bills will be paid on time and according to your instructions. We’ll reimburse you for any late fees if we make an error in processing your payments. Your bills go where they need to go, and arrive when they need to, guaranteed. This does not include any delay caused by a Biller’s failure to post your payment in a timely manner.


Bill Pay payments can be made in any amount.

The limits for transfers are K500,000 per day per account.

Any payments or transfers that you wish to pay through Online Banking must be to a Biller or other recipient located in the Republic of Malawi. We reserve the right to restrict categories of Billers or other recipients to whom payments may be made using the service. You should not use Online Banking to make:

a) Tax payments.

b) Court-ordered payments.

c) Payments to settle securities transactions.

d) Satisfaction of loan-payoff amounts.

e) Timeshare payments.

If you choose to use the Online Banking service to make these payments, such payments must be scheduled at your own risk. In no event will we be liable for any claims or damages resulting from your scheduling of these types of payments. THE ONLINE BANKING GUARANTEE DOES NOT APPLY TO ANY OF THESE TYPES OF PAYMENTS.

Participation by Billers. Occasionally a Biller may choose not to participate in BillPay, or may require additional information before accepting payments. We will work with these Billers to encourage them to accept an electronic or check payment from the bank. If we are unsuccessful, or if we determine that the Biller cannot process payments in a timely manner, we may decline future payments to this Biller. In the unlikely event that this occurs, we will send you a notice.


You cannot cancel a bill payment once it has begun processing or has posted to your account, although bill payments that are still pending may be canceled or modified.



Online Banking services are available 365 days a year and 24 hours a day, except during system maintenance and upgrades. Mobile Banking availability depends on the wireless network you use and may not always be available depending on your location.



Your Online Banking services remain in effect until they are terminated by you or by us. You may cancel your service at any time by notifying us of your intent to cancel in writing, or by calling Online Banking Customer Service at (insert contact details) and this should be confirmed in writing within 24 hours. This cancellation applies to your Online Banking services only and does not terminate your NBS Bank accounts.


We may change the terms of this Agreement at any time. We will notify you of the changes as required by law. Your use of Online Banking, including any new or additional service, after the effective date of the change will constitute your acceptance of and agreement to the change.

We may terminate your participation in Online Banking services for any reason, including inactivity, at any time. We will try to notify you in advance, but we are not obligated to do so.


You agree that we may send, by electronic communication, any information required to be sent to you in writing under the applicable laws. Electronic mail (e-mail) is not a secure method of communication and we recommend that you do not send confidential information by e-mail.


From time to time, NBS Bank may send you e-mail communications relating to Online Banking products, features, services, and activation programs. We may also send you service related or account-specific e-mails and EazyAlerts.

If your e-mail address changes or if you wish to opt out of non-service related communications, please update your e-mail address within Online Banking, or visit



No NBS Bank employee, nor any company affiliated with NBS Bank, will contact you via e-mail or phone requesting your Online User ID and/or Password. If you are contacted by anyone requesting this information, please contact us immediately.



We shall disclose information to third parties about your account(s) or the transactions you make:

1) Where it is necessary to complete transactions or investigate transaction errors and verify transactions.

2) Where we have a third party provide services on our behalf.

3) In order to verify the existence and standing of your account(s) with us upon the request of a third party, such as a credit bureau, merchant or Biller.

4) In accordance with your written permission.

5) In order to comply with court orders or government or administrative agency summonses, subpoenas, orders, examinations and escheat reports.



The terms and conditions of this Agreement are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Malawi.




If you think your statement is wrong or if you need more information about an Online Banking transaction listed on the statement, call us on 01 876 222, or write us at NBS Bank Limited, Attention: E-Banking officer as soon as you can. We must hear from you no later than thirty (30) days after we sent you the FIRST statement on which the problem or error appeared. You must provide us with all of the following information:

1) Your name and account number.

2) A description of the error or the transaction you are unsure about, explaining as clearly as you can why you believe it is an error or why you need more information.

3) The Malawi Kwacha amount of the suspected error.

If you tell us verbally, we may require that you send your complaint or questions in writing within ten (10) business days to the above address.

We will determine whether an error occurred within ten (10) business days after we hear from you and will correct any error promptly. If more time is needed, it may take up to forty-five (45) days to investigate your complaint or question.

If you telephone us, we may require that you send us written confirmation of your notice to be received by us within ten (10) business days of your phone call. You agree to cooperate with us in the investigation of any claim or dispute and provide us with information and documentation as may be necessary in order to assist us in resolving your claim or dispute.


If we fail to complete a transaction on time or in the correct amount, when properly instructed by you, we will be liable for certain damages proximately caused by our failure unless:

1) There are insufficient funds in your account to complete the transaction through no fault of ours or the account has been closed.

2) The funds in your account are unavailable.

3) The funds in your account are subject to legal process.

4) The transaction you request would exceed the funds in your account plus any available overdraft credit.

5) Your Password has been reported lost or stolen or your service privileges have been suspended.

6) We have a reason to believe that the transaction requested is unauthorized.

7) The failure is due to an equipment breakdown, which you knew about when you started the transaction.

8) The failure is due to a loss of power or Internet connectivity during your session where you were not provided, or did not record, your transaction confirmation number.

9) The failure was caused by an act of God, fire or other catastrophe, or by an electrical or computer failure or by another cause beyond our control.

10)You attempt to complete a transaction using the service which is not a permissible transaction.

11)The transaction would exceed security limitations on the use of the service.

12)You have not given us complete information or properly followed our procedures on how to complete a transaction.

There may be other exceptions in other agreements between us. In any case, we shall only be liable for actual proven damages if the failure to make the transaction resulted from a bona fide error despite our procedures to avoid such errors.





Online Banking may only be requested and used by the authorized signers of the business. Authorized signers are those individuals who have been appointed to act on behalf of the business and whose names and signatures are on the physical signature card. Each authorized signer may only access those accounts on which he or she is an authorized signer.


You agree to: 1) keep your User ID and Password secure and strictly confidential; 2) immediately notify us of any change in status, or authority, of any authorized signer on record with the bank; and 3) immediately notify us and select a new User ID or Password if you believe your User ID or Password may have become known to or used by an unauthorized person. The bank will have no liability to you for any unauthorized payment or transfer made using your User ID or Password that occurs before you have notified us of possible unauthorized use and we have had a reasonable opportunity to act on that notice. We may suspend or cancel your use of Online Banking without notice from you if we suspect your User ID or Password is being used in an unauthorized or fraudulent manner.


You agree that we may send notices and other communications to the current address shown in our records. You further agree that NBS Bank LTD will not be responsible or liable to you in any way if information is intercepted by an unauthorized person, either in transit or at your place of business.

Please read these terms and conditions carefully

These terms and conditions govern access and operation of the online banking services provided by EazyApp Banking Service and USSD by EazyMobile.


By signing these terms and conditions, you agree that  EazyMobile or EazyApp Banking Service will ONLY be available on all your personal transactional accounts.

EazyMobile or EazyApp Banking Services are not open to joint accounts or accessible to Customers who are not personal holders/beneficiaries of an accounts, even if they hold any power of attorney or any type of delegated authority on the account(s).


You must have a valid and active personal transactional account to use EazyMobile and  EazyApp Banking Service.

To do the EazyMobile self-registration Banking Service you will be required to:

  • Dial *322# and follow the instructions
  • Visit nearest Service Centre for customer verification.

To use the EazyApp Banking Service you will be required to:

  • download the EazyApp Banking Service App from the Apple App Store or the Android Google Playstore.
  • the bankwill send you an initial One-Time (temporary) PIN.
  • You will be required to select your profile PIN, after which you can log into your profile.
  • Visit nearest Service Centre for customer verification.

Your PIN is your “Security Code” and will be required anytime you want to log on your profile or perform a transaction.


To ensure that you alone are able to access and give instructions on your accounts using EazyMobile or EazyApp Banking Service, you must adopt and at all times maintain the security procedures described in these terms and conditions and any relevant User Guide.

To enable you to use both EazyMobile EazyApp Banking Service, we will give you a user identification code and an initial password and you must then choose your own Password for the Service.


You should change your Password or Mobile PIN regularly, and you shall be required to do so whenever EazyMobile or EazyApp Banking Service prompts you to change your Password or Mobile PIN. You should not choose a Password or Mobile PIN you have used before;

Whenever you choose a Password or Mobile PIN, you must ensure that you do not choose a word or number that is likely to be guessed by anyone trying to access EazyMobile pr EazyApp Banking Service pretending to be you. For example, you should avoid your own or a relative's date of birth, or any part of your telephone number;

You must take all reasonable precautions to keep safe and prevent fraudulent use of your mobile device. You must never disclose any details of your Password or Mobile PIN or Security Codes to anyone including but not limited to a member of our staff, the police or to someone giving assistance on a technical helpdesk in connection with the Service. If you discover or suspect that your password/security codes or any part of it are known to someone else, you must immediately change the security codes.


You agree that the use of the Security Codes agreed between us for EazyMobile and  EazyApp Banking Service is adequate identification of you. We are entitled to act on instructions without any further written or other confirmation from you, even if those instructions are not actually given or authorized by you.

You will be held liable for all losses and expenses that may be attributed to unauthorized use if you have acted fraudulently or; negligently; or with misconduct or if you are in wilful default of any of the security obligations.

You must not use EazyMobile or EazyApp Banking Service to create an unauthorized overdraft on any of your accounts and we are entitled to decline to accept any instruction that would do so. If an unauthorized overdraft is created, the bank shall be at liberty to charge any interest and charges and any action necessary to protect its interests.

Any instruction given through EazyMobile or EazyApp Banking Service is irreversible. For any transaction performed on your account, the bank shall debit any payment plus any charges payable from your account. 

You must advise us of any change to your mobile phone or email used to access EazyMobile and  EazyApp Banking Service.  


The bank shall endeavour to provide a seamless EazyMobile and EazyApp Banking Service experience. However, it does not guarantee the speed or lack of interruption to the service. The bank will take reasonable and practicable steps to provide a smooth Eazymobile and EazyApp Banking Service. From time to time, the bank shall interrupt the Service to provide routine system upgrades and maintenance. You therefore accept and acknowledge as a result, the Service may not be available during its normal operating hours. The bank shall not be held liable for any system disturbances that are a result of any activity by your mobile network provider or any maintenance and upgrades they perform routinely that affect the availability of your mobile network.

The bank shall not be held liable for any direct or indirect loss suffered by You caused by abnormal and unforeseeable circumstances beyond (or our agents’ and/or subcontractors’) control, the consequence of which would have been unavoidable despite our efforts to the contrary.

EazyMobile or EazyApp Banking Service is provided “as is” with no representation, guarantee or agreement of any kind as to its functionality. You are expected to ensure that your devices security system is always upgraded.  The bank does not guarantee that no viruses or other contaminating or destructive properties will be transmitted or that no damage will occur to your computer or mobile device. The bank shall not be held liable for any direct or indirect loss you may incur as a result of this.



You will be responsible for the transmission of exact, appropriate, correct and complete information to us, and its update at regular intervals. 

You shall be liable for any consequence arising from any fraudulent use of EazyMobile or EazyApp Banking Service or wrongful transactions.

You will be fully responsible for the use and safe keeping of your username, Phone number, PIN and Personal Data Package, as well as for the consequences of their disclosure to anyone.

You shall bear responsibility for any prejudice which may arise from connection to the network.

You declare that you know the risks inherent to the use of online banking services (risks relating to data security, diversion, misappropriation of funds, misuse, etc.) and further declares that you fully accept to assume the consequences of such risks.


We will take reasonable practicable steps to ensure that our systems in connection with EazyMobile and  EazyApp Banking Service are installed with adequate security designs and to control and manage the risks in operating the systems, taking into account any law, rules, regulations, guidelines, circulars, codes of conduct and prevailing market practices which may be applicable to us from time to time.

We will not be liable for any loss or damage to you as a result of making EazyMobile and EazyApp Banking Service available to you, including any direct, indirect, consequential or special loss, even if we have been advised of the same. Examples of circumstances in which we will not be liable to you for loss or damage incurred by you through the use of EazyMobile orEazyApp Banking Service include

In the event that we are liable for any loss or damage to you as a result of your use of EazyMobile or EazyApp Banking Service, we shall only be liable for direct loss or damage which, in the ordinary course of events, might reasonably be expected to result from the circumstances in question and only if such loss or damage is caused by our gross negligence or willful default.

You shall indemnify us, our employees and our nominees or agents promptly and on a full indemnity basis from or against all actions, omissions, negligence, proceedings, claims, demands, damages, losses (including direct, indirect or consequential losses), costs and expenses including all duties, taxes, or other levies and legal costs as between solicitor and client (on a full indemnity basis) and other liabilities which we may incur or suffer from or by reason of your use of the bank’s EazyMobile or EazyApp Banking Service


This section of the terms and conditions governs your use of the software application called EazyApp Banking Application. (“Application”) on mobile devices. The Application was created by NBS bank Developers and it allows you to enjoy EazyApp Banking Service from the comfort of your mobile device. The Application provides an easy channel that enables you to manage your account and conduct financial transactions in a simple and secured manner.

By signing these terms and conditions of the EazyApp Banking Service, you agree to be legally bound by same.
